TROY- Charles W. “Pete” Luckey, Jr., 67, of East Troy, PA, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014 at his home. The graveside service to honor Pete’s life will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Bradford County Memorial Park in Luthers Mills, PA with Rev. Garry Zuber of the East Troy Baptist Church officiating. Military honors will be given by Troy Veterans Honor Guard. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements. Pete was born on November 14, 1946 in Canton, PA, son of the late Charles W. Luckey, Sr. and Marion E. (Mingos) Luckey of Troy, PA. He was a Troy High School graduate, class of 1964. Pete was a US Navy veteran, worked for Thatcher Glass after the Navy, and went on to be a carpenter until his retirement. He was a member of the Breezeport Baptist Church and attended East Troy Baptist Church. Pete enjoyed mowing the grass, gardening, and everything the outdoors had to offer. Pete is survived by his mother Marion, his daughter Michelle Luckey and his grandson Adam Appleton, both of Salisbury, NC, his sisters: Marianne & Randy Everts, Kathy Turner, both of Troy, PA and Louis & Dru Luckey of Marathon, NY, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pete was preceded in death by his father Charles William Luckey, Sr, who passed on Thursday, January 8, 2009, and his brother James R. “Jim” Luckey who passed away on September 8, 2011. The family requests that in lieu of flowers please direct donations to the Good Samaritan Fund at the East Troy Baptist Church, PO Box 21, Troy, PA 16947.
