NORTH CODORUS TOWNSHIP- Charles W. Lippy, Jr., 80 of York, died Saturday, July 28,2007 at his residence. He was the husband of Loretta E. (Senft) Lippy. A Celebration of Life Service will be 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a visitation from 6-7 p.m. His pastor, The Reverend Patricia A. Snyder will be officiating at the service. Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Mr. Lippy was born in York on November 18, 1926, a son of the late Charles W. and Thelma M. (Geise) Lippy, Sr. He was the owner and operator of Valley Tavern in Seven Valleys from 1968-2005. Mr. Lippy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson, Spring Grove V.F.W., Glen Rock American Legion, U.S.S. Missouri Association, and American Battleship Association. During his service in the US Navy in WWII, he served aboard the U.S.S. Missouri and observed the signing of the peace treaty. Mr. Lippy leaves a daughter, Linda L. Trone of York, a step-daughter, Vicki A. Linsey of York New Salem, two grandchildren, Charles Reineberg and Hope Roe, and two step grandchildren, Tracee Burhans and Kevin Linsey, seven great grandchildren, two brothers, Robert and Clyde Lippy, both of York, and two sisters, Charlotte Watson of York and Caroline Reachard of Wyoming. A brother, Jack Lippy had preceded him in death. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 4 York Street, Codorus, PA 17311.
