LOGANTON - Charles Sylvan Brungard, 85 died at home on January 19, 2010 in the company of his family after an extended illness. He was born in Pray, Montana on May 24, 1924 the son of Meta (Wolfe) Confer and stepfather Clayton Confer. He was married on August 24, 1944 to the former Anna Mae Holdron in Carroll, PA. For 35 years he was employed at Piper Aircraft, as well as running his own business of "Charlie's Family Crafts." Charlie was well known for helping his neighbors, friends and family. Charles enjoyed woodworking, horse riding, camping and his family. He especially enjoyed his grandsons and his great-grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 65 years and a daughter Patricia (Brungard) Summers of Loganton and a special niece Sandra (Matter) Stover of Polk City, FL. Three grandsons Jesse (Nicole Eisenhower) Simcox of Mansfield, PA, Shane (Kristy Leone) Simcox of Loganton, William Summers, Jr. of Belleville, IL (US Air Force) Four great-grandchildren Caitlyn, Nova, Luke, and Darbi. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the home of his wife beginning at 1:00 P.M. Memorial contributions can be made to Community Nursing Hospice or the Sugar Valley Volunteer Fire Company. Arrangements are under the direction of the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall.
