HANOVER, PA- Charles S. Cox, Jr., 62, died on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of Jennifer B. (Rudd) Cox, to whom he was married for 42 years. A memorial service will be held on July 28th at 10:30am at Vaughn C. Green Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Rd Randallstown, MD. A visitation will be from 10:00am to 10:30am prior to the memorial service. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, PA is in charge of arrangements. Born on October 2, 1952 in Baltimore, he was a son of Charles S. Cox, Sr., and the late Elenor E. (Dodd) Cox. Charles attended Harlem Park Elementary School and Harlem Park Jr. High School. He was a 1972 graduate of Frederick Douglas High School. Charles was a tractor and crane operator for Bethlehem Steel from 1974 to 2012. Charles served our country for eight years in the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. Charles, affectionately known as Denny, enjoyed music, his dogs, driving his trucks and cooking. Denny loved sports especially the Dallas Cowboys. Denny was a handyman who could fix anything. He loved to entertain his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, a true family patriarch. Denny’s magnetic personality, character and passion for life have left a lasting legacy with scores of family and friends. He leaves not to mourn but to cherish his memories his loving wife, Jennifer. Denny is also survived by one daughter, Darlene E. Thomas of Hanover PA; two sons, Charles S. Cox, III and his fiancé, Min of Arlington, VA and Kevin J. Cox, Sr. and his wife, Anikka of North Huntingdon PA; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Tiffany, Kevin Jr., Charles IV, Michael, Antwon and Adajenae; three great grandchildren, Kayla, Keyonte, Auriel; his stepmother, Ruth Cox; two brothers, James R. Baskerville and his wife, Angie of Troy, OH and Eric A. Cox and his wife, Terry of Baltimore; three sisters, Nadine A. Clark and her husband, Darnell, Tanya I. Wilson and her husband, James and Bonnetta D. Eads, three step-brothers, Michael Hope and wife Barbara, Martin Marsh, Robert Gracey and wife Marsha; mother in law, Ruth Thomas; and brother in law, Asbury J. Rudd; great uncle Charles Dodd; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins all of Baltimore. He was preceded in death by oldest son, Michael P. Thomas; and youngest brother, Dwayne A. Baskerville.
