Charles R. Simon, Sr.

RED LION- Charles R. Simon, Sr., 86, died on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at his residence. He was the longtime companion of Nancy L. Langenfelder for 28 years.

A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with the Reverend Steven Schmuck officiating. A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.

Born on August 7, 1937 in York, he was the son of the late Charles H. G. and Violet (Walker) Simon. Charlie was a Quality Control Inspector and Supervisor for multiple manufacturers in York and Baltimore counties over the years.

Mr. Simon served our country for four years in the United States Air Force.

Charlie had a love for the outdoors especially fishing, boating and gardening. He also had a love for music and his animals. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Along with his companion, Nancy, Charlie is survived by his daughter, Wendy Miller of Bradenton, FL; son, Charles R. Simon, Jr. and his wife, Tammy of Red Lion; four grandchildren, Danielle Sarris and her husband, Sam of Baltimore, Michael G. Miller of Bethesda, MD, Charles R. Simon, III and his fiancé, Brittany Lonberger of York and Sarah Simon of Red Lion; great granddaughter, Andrea Simon of York; and his former wife and longtime friend, Jane Simon of York. He was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Myers.
