Red Lion — Charles R. “Dick” Loss, Jr, 79, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at his residence in Windsor Township. He was the husband of Betty J. (Erdley) Loss to whom he was married for 59 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born July 20, 1932 in Keystone, he was a son of the late Rev. Charles R. Loss Sr, and Eva L. (Hackenberg) Loss. He was employed with Lyon Metal as a Safety Director/Supervisor for 33 years. A United States Veteran of the Korean War, he was also a member of the American Legion in Dallastown. Dick enjoyed woodworking, vegetable gardening, taking family camping trips, fishing, hunting and was an avid sports fan. He always had time for his family and had a special place in his heart for kids. In addition to his wife, Mr. Loss is survived by two sons, Richard L. Loss and his companion, Lorie of York and David A. Loss and his wife, Rhonda of Windsor; three grandchildren, Joshua, Trisha and Daniel; 3 great grandchildren, Ariah, Cason and Adam and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Aimee Jo Loss; one brother, Dane Loss and one sister, Betty Bond. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 6062, Albert Lea, MN 56007.
