WINDSOR - Charles P. Peters, 81, died on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at his residence. He was the husband of Gloria M. (Grove) Peters. The couple planned to celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary on June 15. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Certified Celebrant Jessica R. Smith officiating. A viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with a flag folding ceremony provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born on February 3, 1932 in Springettsbury Twp., he was a son of the late George F. and Fannie Mae (Seeger) Peters. Charles was a farmer. Mr. Peters served our country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Era. Mr. Peters was a member of Longstown United Methodist Church. Charles was a member of Steam-O-Rama of Windsor. He enjoyed John Deere Tractors and attending tractor shows. Along with his wife Gloria, Charles is survived by three sons, Charles Allen Peters and his wife, Phyllis of Hallam, Gregory L. Peters of Windsor and James E. Peters and his companion, Kathleen Birk of Dover; one daughter, Debra M. Peters and her companion, Keith Bortner of Windsor; one grandson, James M. Peters; one great grandson, Carter J. Beck-Peters; four brothers, Floyd J. Peters of York, Harry R. Peters of Ft. Collins, CO, Warren A. Peters of York and M. Lavere Peters of York; and three sisters, Eleanor B. Henise of York, Susan M. Peters of York and Idonna Miller of Michigan. He was preceded in death by one brother, Edward J. Peters; and six sisters, Gertie H. Stough, Sylvia R. Landis, Hilda L. Ruth, Florence D. Peters, Alice V. Peters and Leona Peters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Memorial and Honor Program, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 103, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
