DOVER – Charles P. “Charlie” Weaver, 81, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at Providence Place of Dover. He was the husband of the late Betty J. (Mitchell) Weaver. Born January 24, 1933 in York a son of the late Harry E. and Genevieve M. (Plowman) Weaver, he was a 1951 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Charlie retired from the former York Intl. in 1998. He had been active with York Barbershop Chorus and the Ultimate’s Barbershop Quartet, was a former diving coach at Dover High School, and a member of Viking AA and Shiloh American Legion. Charlie was a former member of Shiloh Lutheran Church. He was a US Navy veteran of The Korean War. Charlie is survived by two daughters, Ann M. and husband Wade Shultz of Dover and Theresa J. Blevins of Dover; a granddaughter, Katelyn S. Toomey; two brothers, Marlet E. Weaver and companion Nancy Brelig of Oceanside, CA and Rodney E. and wife Sue Weaver of Cocoa, FL; a sister in law, Virginia K. and husband Jerry P. Farrell of York; and many nieces and nephews. Contributions in memory of Charlie may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 4660 Trindle Road, Suite 204, Camp Hill, PA 17011. At the request of Charlie, there will be no public services. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.
