LOCK HAVEN - Charles M. “Chuck” Stein, 88, passed away, Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the Gatehouse in Williamsport. He was born October 18, 1927 in Lock Haven a son of Ephriam L. and Martha (Moore) Stein. Charles was married 56 years to the former Dorothy M. Bush who died in 2003. He was the owner of Stein Furniture and Contemporary Concepts retiring in 1985. Charles was a 1946 graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy and the University of PA Wharton School of Economics. He enjoyed fly-fishing, photography and racing cars. He served on the board of the Lock Haven Flood Protection Authority, Clinton County Industrial Authority, Tourism Promotion Agency, Economic Partnership, Chief Trainer for the AARP Driver Safety Program and a member of the Board of the Piper Aircraft Museum. He served in the Army from 1946 – 1948. Surviving are one daughter Lisa (Fern) Dunkle of Mill Hall and a grandson Graham and also a great granddaughter Fern Isabela. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sharon Heilberg and a son David D. Stein. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 – Noon on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall. Interment will be private at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall. The family will provide the flowers.
