RED LION – Charles M. “Chuck” Vitz, 71, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Paula A. (Mears) Vitz to whom he was married for 26 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, September 29, 2017 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 397 Tyler Run Road, York with Rev. Don Lindman, Rev. Timothy Hoffman, and Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Full military rites will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. A visitation will be held from 4-6:00 PM Friday at the Church. Private interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements. Born November 20, 1945 in Buffalo, NY; a son of the late Carl M. and Phyllis M. (West) Vitz, he was a 1963 graduate of Dallastown Area High School. Chuck owned and operated Vitz Automotive in Red Lion. He enjoyed attending car auctions and was an avid hunter. Mr. Vitz was a US Army veteran of The Vietnam War. In addition to his wife, Mr. Vitz is survived by a daughter, Emily E. and husband David Eskay of Frederick, MD; two sons, Bruce J. and wife Julie Vitz of Dallastown and Barry R. and wife Teresa Vitz of Red Lion; six grandchildren, Jessica, Madison, Trevor and Isaac Vitz, Damon and Ellyana Eskay; a brother, Dr. Brian Vitz of York; a sister, Carol and husband Thomas Wells of Bristol, Vermont.
