YORK – Charles I. “Jug” Snyder, Jr., 78, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Troxell) Snyder from Lykens. Tribute services will be private with inurnment to take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born July 17, 1937 in Danbury, PA a son of the late Anne C. (Simmendinger) and Charles I. Snyder, Sr., Charles grew up with the best people in the best of times. He was a graduate of Williamstown High School in 1955. Jug retired from Duplex Products after 37 years of service. He served his country in the US Navy assigned to the submarine tender USS Orion AS 18, with temporary duty on the submarines USS Cutlass SS 478 and the USS Sailfish SSR 572. He had attended the York campus of Penn State and was proud to be a member of the Williamstown American Legion. In addition to his wife, Mr. Snyder is survived by a son, Charles I. Snyder, III of Hallam; a grandson, Jason R. and wife Marcy Groom; two great grandchildren, Camden and Talon Groom; a son in law, Walter Groom of York; and a niece, Karen Savage of Lykens. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Jean Groom.
