MONTOURSVILLE - Charles I. “Charlie” Noll, 89, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at The Gatehouse, Williamsport. He was born in Phelps, New York on February 15, 1925 and was the son of the late Charles E. and Edna V. (Krape) Noll. On December 29, 1962 Charlie married Jane (Kunkle), who survives and they would have celebrated 52 years of marriage together this year. Charlie served his country during World War II in the US Navy. After being honorably discharged he went on to graduate from South Williamsport High School in 1947. Charlie also attended the University of Miami. He worked for Republic Steel as a steam ship pilot on the great lakes for 12 years. He then went on to work for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for 17 years and retired in 1991. Charlie was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, South Williamsport and attended Central Baptist Church, Williamsport. He enjoyed golfing, fly fishing, making chocolate chip cookies and in his younger years he was a coach and umpire for little league baseball. In addition to his wife Jane, Charlie is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Charlene M. and Kurt Deery of Mechanicsburg and Rebecca L. and Joseph Kelly of New Cumberland, four grandchildren; Brittany Ann Kelly, Shannon Noll Kelly, Wesley H. Strohecker and Carley M. Strohecker, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by one brother, Gordon and twin sisters, Jacquelyn and Betty. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church, 601 Seventh Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701. A public viewing will be held 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Central Baptist Church, Williamsport followed by the funeral at noon with the Reverend Eleanor Siegrist officiating. Burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family in Zion Cemetery, Zion PA. Arrangements are being handled by Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street, Williamsport, PA 17701
