Charles H. Wilson, Jr.

Williamsport - Charles H. "Oakie" Wilson, Jr., 83, of Williamsport died Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Gatehouse. Charles was born March 2, 1926 in Jersey Mills, PA the son of Charles H. and Mabel L. Banks Wilson. He was married to the former Christina E. Gaddy who died in 1991. Charles retired from Bethlehem Steel after 44 years. He was a member of A.M.E. Zion Church, American Legion Post #1, the Young Men's Democratic Club, 40 & 8, I.B.P.O.E. of Williamsport He joined the US Army in 1946 and was a Pvt/Duty Soldier during WWII. Surviving are one son Charles H. Wilson, III of Williamsport and two daughters Paulette Bellotti of Williamsport and Sheila Willis of Detroit, MI. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One brother Albert Wilson of Williamsport and a sister Joan Lockley of Hagerstown, MD. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. There will be a public viewing from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M., Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Allen and Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street. Private interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery.
