FELTON- Charles H. Smith, Sr., 58, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Darlene Y. (Fickes) Smith. The couple wed on June 3, 1972. A celebration of life service will be 10 a.m. on Friday November 12, 2010 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Reverend Steven C. Almquist officiating. Viewings will be on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Mt. Rose Cemetery Mr. Smith was born on January 23, 1952 in Red Lion, a son of Donald S. and the late Phyllis J. (Seitz) Smith. Charles worked as a carpenter for Trenwith for over 13 years. Mr. Smith enjoyed hunting, camping, the mountains, and buggy riding. Along with his wife Darlene, Charles Sr. is survived by a son, Charles H. Smith, Jr. and his wife Ashley of Windsor; a daughter, Tammy Y. Fisher and her husband, Ted G., Jr. of Red Lion; one grandson, Teddy III; five brothers, Donald C. Smith, Jr., Keith A. Smith, Kenneth E. Smith, Michael J. Smith and Craig S. Smith; two sisters, Joyce E. Shoff and Denise M. Ness; stepmother, Catherine (Chilcoat) Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Karen L. Noll. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 924 N Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
