HARBESON – Charles H. Persing, 96, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held 6 PM Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. Born August 1, 1918 in Dallastown, Charles was the son of Thomas A. and Josephine (Seiling) Persing. He retired from the PA Department of Revenue where he worked as a Tax Auditor. Charles had previously owned and operated the Charles Persing School of Dance in the 1950’s. Mr. Persing served our country for over two years during World War II as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army, stationed in Guam. Charles was a member of Dance Masters and the Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge #2540. He was a lifetime member of the West York VFW Post 8951 and the Lewes, Delware American Legion Post 17. Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Sister Andrew Persing, OSF. Memorial contributions can be made to Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro, DE 19966.
