FELTON – Charles F. Robinson, 83, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Diana D. (Wolford) Robinson to whom he was married for 30 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 10, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 251 E. Main Street, Dallastown with Rev. John A. McClosky OFM Cap officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and from 10-11:00 AM Thursday at the Church. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery will full military rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born September 13, 1930 in Watervliet, New York a son of the late Charles N. and Frances E. (Schumacher) Robinson, he earned his undergraduate Civil Engineering Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his master’s in Civil Engineering from Princeton University. Mr. Robinson served 28 years in the US Navy during both the Vietnam and Korean Wars. He served during the Tet Offensive in Vietnam and was part of the US Navy Construction Battalion, better known as the “Seabees.” Mr. Robinson retired from the US Navy in 1975 with the rank of Captain. He then worked at Fox Pools in York as Executive Vice-President with over 15 years of service. Charles was a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of New York and had also been a faculty member at the US Naval Academy. He was a very active and dedicated member at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and volunteered at Manor Care –Dallastown. In addition to his wife, Mr. Robinson is survived by three sons, Scott and wife Linda Robinson of Ocean Pines, MD, Mark and wife Sonia Robinson of Orlando, FL, and David Robinson of Bonita Springs, FL; a daughter, D. Pilar Robinson and husband Nelson Outten of Davidsonville, MD; a stepson, Del Etter of Felton; a step daughter, Denna and husband Billy Chivers of Felton; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two brothers in law, Dana and wife Esther Wolford and Gerald Sullivan; and five former daughters in law, Gigi, Madeline, Stacy, Debbie & Star. He was preceded in death by his first wife, June (Prue) Robinson; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Sullivan; and his mother in law, Doris Wintermyer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 251 E. Main St., Dallastown, PA 17313 or to Lutheran Home Care & Hospice, Inc., 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
