Charles F. Foster

SLIPPERY ROCK, PA-Rev. Charles Francis Foster, 86, of Slippery Rock, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at the Grove Manor in Grove City, PA. He was the loving husband of the late Jane W. (Carpenter) Foster who passed away in 1997. Family and friends are invited to call from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, January 26, 2006 at the Independent Bible Church, 45 East Ave. Wellsboro, PA. The funeral service to honor Pastor Foster's life will be held after the viewing at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. Rev. Foster was born on May 17, 1921 in Highland Lake, NY. He was the son of the late Perry and Juliet (Wiley) Foster. Rev. Foster was the pastor for several Baptist churches in New York and Pennsylvania, and after retirement became a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Harlansburg, PA. Rev. Foster is survived by his two sons: Ronald (Shirley) Foster of Elkland, PA and Richard (Frances) Foster of Charlotte, NC, and his daughter, Flora (Larry) Cowan of Slippery Rock, PA, his eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and three nephews. His parents, his wife Jane, his brother Joseph, and sister Flora predeceased him. The family has asked that to honor Rev. Foster's memory, memorial contributions may be made to the missions program in one's own church.
