FELTON - Charles E. Sentz, 88, died on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Margaret E. (Laird) Sentz. The couple wed on June 6, 1942. He was also the companion of Romaine Ness. A celebration of life tribute service will be 10 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with his pastor, the Reverend Michael G. Trimmer officiating. Viewings will be 6-8 p.m. on Sunday and 9-10 a.m. on Monday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cross Roads United Methodist Cemetery. Born on September 8, 1923, he was the son of the late Benjamin Sentz and Gertrude (Silk) Sentz Wilson. Charles worked as an assembler for the Red Lion Furniture Factory and later for Zell Bros. until his retirement. Charles was always proud to say that he was never laid off and he had worked in the same building all his life. Mr. Sentz was a member of Cross Roads United Methodist Church. He served on the Boro Council for 11 years and served as the Mayor of Felton for 20 years. Charles was a member of the Felton Fire Co for 59 years and was also a member of the York Bottle Club. His favorite hobby was buying and selling antiques. Mr. Sentz is survived by a son, Jerry L. Sentz and his wife, Cindy of Felton; a daughter, Gloria J. Flaharty and her husband, Francis of Felton; two grandchildren, Lonnie Sentz and his wife, Linda of Whispering Pines and Jody Flaharty Darrell and her husband, Robert of Baltimore; three great grandchildren, Madison Darrell, Camie Sentz and Emma Sentz; and a granddaughter in law, Carrie. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Sentz; a brother, Marvin Sentz; and a sister, Beulah Runkle Leffler.
