Charles E. Rudy

DOVER - Charles E. "Charlie" Rudy, 71, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 at Manor Care - North. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Wolf) Rudy to whom he was married for 33 years on July 22, 2010. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM Friday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born January 14, 1939 in York a son of the late Charles H. and Ethel (Albright) Rudy, he retired as a mechanic from Consolidated Freightways. Mr. Rudy was a member of Hawks Gunning Club, Son's of the American Revolution, Teamsters Local 430, Consolidated Freightways Retirees, York County Heritage Trust, and AARP. In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by two sons, Scott Rudy of Palm Coast, FL and Blaine Rudy of Edgewater, FL; two stepsons, Stephen Welsh and David Welsh both of Dover; a stepdaughter, Yvonne Cone of Dover; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Dale Rudy of Dayton, Ohio; and a sister, Hilda Rudy of York. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Annette Jenkins; a brother, William Rudy; and a sister, Jean Hamberger.
