RED LION- Charles E. Laughman, 68, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at his residence. He was the husband of Helen A. (Hittie) Laughman. The couple wed on December 15, 1972. A celebration of life tribute service will be 7 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with his pastor, the Reverend Dr. William H. Cluley officiating. A viewing will be from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service. Mr. Laughman was born on December 16, 1943 in York, a son of the late Charles E. and Mildred (Landis) Laughman. Charles was a heavy equipment operator for Fitz & Smith, Inc. for over 45 years. After retiring, he worked for the Red Lion Bus Co. Mr. Laughman was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Red Lion. Charles enjoyed camping, skiing, volleyball, motorcycle riding, watching NASCAR and most of all, hunting. He was a member of the Red Lion Jaycees. Along with his wife, Helen, Mr. Laughman is survived by a son, Chris Laughman of Felton; a daughter, Marsha Schaszberger of Chambersburg; a stepson, Richard Torbert and his wife, Whitney of Red Lion; two stepdaughters, Debora Orwig of South Pasadena, FL and Kathy Vaught of Red Lion; five grandchildren, Jaime Vaught, Heather Mendoza, Riley Torbert, Michelle Orwig and Tim Sipe; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Laughman and his wife, Lucy of Tolna and Warren Laughman and his wife, Donna of Glen Rock; and three sisters, RaeJean Forrey and her husband, Gene of Seven Valleys, Delores Hickman and her husband, Don of Glen Rock and Patricia Laughman of Jacobus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 220 N. Charles St., Red Lion, PA 17356 or the American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
