Charles E. Frey, Jr.

YORK – Charles E. Frey, Jr., 80, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy E. (Michalak) Frey to whom he was married for 55 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Certified Celebrant, Jessica Smith officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Chapel. Born January 11, 1934 in Red Lion a son of the late Mabel and Charles E. Frey, Sr., he retired from Agway Inc. in 1996 after 43 years of service. Charles had also worked at PADE Auto Auction. Mr. Frey was a life member of Victory Fire Co., and was a member of AAA and AARP. He enjoyed umpiring for local softball leagues, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and watching sports. In addition to his wife, Mr. Frey is survived by a daughter, Ann L. and husband Keith Byers of Duncannon; a son, Nicholas C. and wife Carol Frey of Moore, OK; a granddaughter, Amy L. Chaney of Moore; and a great granddaughter, Ryann E. Chaney of Moore; one sister, Pauline L. Zeigler of York; two nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Spurgeon and Donald Frey.
