Charles E. Crim

YORK- Charles E. Crim, 66, died on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at his residence. Several years after his service to our country in Vietnam, as an Army Sgt. E-5, Stephanie (Calder Taylor) Crim was blessed with a marriage of 42 years to Charlie, son of the late Charles B. and Julia (Ihrig) Crim. Charlie was a 1966 graduate of York Suburban High School and was fortunate to be a 45 year employee of Borg-Warner, York International, Johnson Controls and enjoyed his retirement December 2012, although missing his wonderful co-workers. This very unassuming “VIP” was cherished as a father and Pop Pop to his daughter Julie C. Crim (David A. Patton) and their daughters, Madeline Catherine, Audrey Elizabeth and Ellie Jayne Patton. He and David Taylor agreeably shared the role as Dad to his son Chad D. Taylor (Lisa Spangler Taylor) and was adored as the Grandpa to Ruby Lou, Scarlett Mae and Delilah Rose Taylor. These children and grandchildren brought him incredible joy and ten reasons for him to practice his quick witted sense of humor. Thomas G. Calder (Jan), Susan C. Metzel (Jack), Thomas M. Rooney, Matthew B. Crim (Jill), the late T. Gregory Calder (Ellen), Christine Calder and their children, all so important to Charlie, and yes, additional subjects for his comic release. Nothing would be complete without the mention of the important role that the Gracey and Badders families played over many years of friendship. Laughter and memories will never be forgotten. Our family thanks Doctors Boyle, Buenaventura, Slovak, Pramanick and Rubi for their devotion to the care of Charlie. We have grateful praise for the Aqua Team of Hospice and Community Care, nurses and other staff were incredible. Additional thanks to the York Hospital but even more importantly to Julie whose nursing care comforted Charlie and his wife. Memorial contributions may be made to York Cancer Center Patient Help Fund, 25 Monument Rd., Suite 194, York, PA 17403. A celebration of life service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Pastor Jonathan McCarthy officiating and full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard prior to the service. A visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. prior to the service.
