Charles E. Bingham, Sr.

WELLSBURG- Charles E. Bingham, Sr., 65, of Wellsburg, NY, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elmira. He was the loving husband of the late Candy L. (Faucett) Bingham who passed away on December 23, 2010. The couple married December 23, 1989 and had 21 happy years together. Chuck was born on April 22, 1948 in Lone Rock, WI, son of the late Leland and Lillian (Wilson) Bingham. He was a U.S. Marine Corps. Veteran, serving his country in Vietnam during the war. Chuck worked in the warehouse for Corning, Inc. and was a member of the Flint Glass Workers Union. He was a daily patron of the Wellsburg Diner and was United Methodist by faith. Chuck is survived by his sons; Charles E. (Angie) Bingham, Jr. of Waverly, NY and Jessup Bingham of Wellsburg, his daughters; Jennifer Faucett of Wellsburg and Amanda Faucett of Elmira, twelve grandchildren, his brother Kenneth (Nancy) Bingham, and his sisters; Judy Newell, Sue Bingham, Margaret Bingham, and Lois Bingham, all of Wisconsin, along with several nieces and nephews. Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Candy, his son Joshua Bingham who passed away in 1991, and his daughter Christina Bingham who passed away in 1998. The gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00-2:00 pm on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main St. Wellsburg, NY. The graveside committal service to honor Chuck’s life will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in Ashland Cemetery, Wellsburg, NY with military rites given. Memorial contributions may be made in Chuck’s memory to the American Cancer Society 1316 College Avenue Elmira, NY 14901.
