Charles E. Balmer

DOVER – Charles E. Balmer, 89, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Lovina M. (Demmy) Balmer with whom he celebrated 69 years of marriage on November 6th.

Charles was born on October 17, 1934 in Mt. Joy, a son to the late Harvey and Emma (Sweger) Balmer. He had served in the US Army. Following his military service, Mr. Balmer continued his career at J.E. Baker Co. and later retired from its successor Baker Dolomite. He was a member of Viking Athletic Assoc., Weigelstown Lions Club, and Calvary Lutheran Church in Dover. Charles enjoyed woodworking and playing golf.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Balmer is survived by a daughter, Kimberly A. and husband Gregory E. Anderson of Dover; two grandsons, Adam D. and wife Cassandra Anderson and Alex D. and wife Nicole Anderson; and four great grandchildren, Sophia C., Owen T., Kaylee E., and Layla A. Anderson.

Tribute services will be private. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.
