Charles D. Wilt, Jr.

YORK - Charles D. Wilt, Jr., 93, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Rest Haven - York. He was the husband of Margaret C. (Groupe) Wilt to whom he was married for 63 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, March 22, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with his pastor, The Rev. Dwayne L. Campbell officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 AM Monday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be held in Mount Rose Cemetery with Full Military Rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born October 27, 1916 in Manchester, a son of the late Emma S. (Byers) and Charles D. Wilt, Sr., he retired from the former Allis Chalmers and S. Morgan Smith Co. in 1982 after 42 years of service. Mr. Wilt was a member of First Assembly of God and was an avid hunter who enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. He was a US Army Air Corp veteran of WWII. In addition to his wife, Mr. Wilt is survived by a daughter, Donna Fay and husband Dennis Fulk of Dover; a son, Barry C. and wife Cindy Wilt of Dover; four grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Berkheimer of York and Beatrice Adams of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.
