RED LION- Charles D. Stine, 81, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2007, at Autumn House at Powder Mill. He was the husband of Jean V. (Flickinger) Stine. The couple celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on December 17, 2006. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with a viewing from 9:30 to 11 a.m. His pastor, the Rev. Paul C. Murphy, will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Red Lion Cemetery. Mr. Stine was born in Red Lion on July 20, 1925, a son of the late Charles H. and Martha (Fillmore) Stine. He retired in 1990 from Broadway Autoparts, Inc., where he was the owner and operator. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII, where he served as a Flight Officer, flying in B-24's as a Navigator. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Red Lion, a 1943 graduate of Red Lion High School, a member of the Red Lion F&AM Lodge No. 649, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Scottish Rite, and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and enjoyed playing tennis. Mr. Stine leaves two sons, Steven C. Stine of Red Lion and his wife, Sandra, and Rick Stine of Red Lion and his wife, Carol; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Sheldon Stine of Oregon; and a sister, Dorothy Snyder of Windsor. A daughter, Kay J. Posey, preceded him in death. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 924-N Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
