It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Randall "Chuck" Butcher, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world at the age of 83 on February 9, 2025. Born on August 3, 1941, in Inez, Kentucky, to the late Richard and Mary Butcher, Charles leaves behind a legacy of love and service.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 23 years, completing two tours during the Vietnam War and receiving numerous decorations for his service and action in combat. After retiring from the Marines, he worked at Bell Sports until his retirement, where he was respected for his leadership. Charles had an unwavering desire to serve Christ, and his faith guided all aspects of his life.
He was a devoted husband to Sue Dove Butcher for 61 years and the father of four daughters: Tara Huntsberry (Randy) and their children Kyle and Olivia; Tracy Grove and her children Nicole Miklaucic (John) and Devlyn Grove; Tammy King (Michael) and their children Caleb, Alyssa, Lauren, Andrew, and Grant; and Tina Gross (Thad) and her children Julia, Jacque, and Nicholas. He also cherished his two great-grandchildren, Ava and Franklin, and was looking forward to welcoming his third great granddaughter near his birthday in August. He is survived by his sister Ella and was preceded in death by his sister Donna.
A dedicated member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Charles loved the outdoors, particularly fishing and hunting, and was recognized for his marksmanship when West Manchester Twp. Farmers & Sportsmans Assoc. named a shooting range in his honor. In his free time, he loved to read and cherished spending time with family. Known as "Uncle Rambo" to his nephews, his warmth and humor touched many lives.
