Charles Big Bob" Robert Powers

FELTON- Charles R. "Big Bob" Powers, Jr., 60 of Felton died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at his home. He was the husband of Tanya Jean (Smith) Powers, with whom he was married to for 35 years. A Celebration of Life Tribute service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler& Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion, with the Rev. Richard B. Starr officiating. A viewing will be from 2 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Powers was born on February 8, 1947 in Lexington, MD, a son of the late Vernon and Virgie (Weiss) Lippy. He served our country during the Vietnam War in the US Army. Mr. Powers was employed with Flinchbaugh's, Inc., Red Lion for 17 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He liked wood Working, tractor pulls, his Mercedes, and going to the Buck. As a younger man, he played baseball and Softball. He was an avid Yankee's and Red Skins fan. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son, Charles R. Powers, III and his companion, Debbie Miller of Felton; two daughters, Amy Priestly and her husband, John of MD, and Bonnie Lynn and her husband, James Arnold of Red Lion; seven grandchildren, Hope Irvin, Sawyer Arnold, Levi Powers, Kody and Kortlyn Arnold, James Flaharty, Jesselynn Kline, and Ashley Priestly; two brothers, Ronnie and his wife, Linda Beverly of Port St. Lucie, Fl and Robert and his wife, Sue Beverly of Hampstead, MD; a sister Cindy Lynn Lippy of Parkton, MD; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding in death are a son, Mike Bailey (1987); a grandson, Tyler Powers (1992); and two brothers, Gary Beverly (1990) and Mike Beverly (2003).
