Charles Barry Gilbert

WINDSOR- Charles Barry Gilbert, 81, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at his residence. He was the husband of Julia A. (Starner) Gilbert. The couple would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on August 2, 2014. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Born March 4, 1933 in East Prospect, Charles was the son of the late Frederick K. and Margaret E. (Knisley) Gilbert. Mr. Gilbert served our country in the United States Marine Corps until his retirement. He then worked as a quality control supervisor for Chronister Tool Engineering until 1995. Charles was a member of the First Capitol Marine Corps League, the Marine Corps Tankers Association, the VFW Kreutz Creek Post #7045 and the American Legion Post #791. In addition to his wife, Mr. Gilbert is survived by two sons, Ronald Afflebach and his wife Leslie of York, and Frederick Gilbert and his wife Mandy of Greenwood, South Carolina; a daughter, Teresa Theobald and her husband William of Red Lion; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
