Charles B. Cannon

YORK- Charles B. Cannon, 80, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Manor Care Health Services South in York. He was the husband of Betty A. (Anson) Cannon. The couple celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on September 19, 2011. A Graveside Service will be held at noon on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7215 Ritchie Highway, Glen Bernie, MD. Funeral procession to form at the office of the cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Cannon was born in Philadelphia on March 3, 1932. He retired from the Department of Defense. He was formerly a member of St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church in Glen Bernie, MD. He volunteered for many different organizations. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Along with his wife, Mr. Cannon leaves a daughter, Valarie Hawkins of York; two sisters, Inez Donahue of Philadelphia and Mary McClay of California. He was preceded in death by a grandson, John Hawkins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Greater PA Chapter, 3544 N.
