RED LION- Charles A. Tyson, 82 of Windsor Township passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, February 24, 2024. He was the husband of Joyce E. (Myers) Tyson. The couple celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on May 24, 2023.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Pastor Don Record will be officiating at the service. Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite sports attire to the service. The service will be webcast live and can be viewed by searching Charles’ obituary at HeffnerCare.com Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York, following the service.
Mr. Tyson was born in York on August 4, 1941, the son of the late Lester and Pauline (Einsig) Tyson. He retired as a press operator for over 40 years at Autokraft Box Corporation in York.
He was an avid York Revolution fan, where he was a season ticket holder, member of the Silver Slugger Club, and their fan club. He was also a huge fan of the LA Dodgers and enjoyed watching NASCAR.
Along with his wife Joyce, Charles leaves two sons, Randy Tyson and his wife Cathi; and Brian Tyson; five grandchildren, Eric, Molly, Max, Julie, and Bryce; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
