YORK - Charles A. Kramer, Jr., 81, died Friday, April 11, 2008 at York Hospital. He is the husband of Pearl F. [Fritz] Kramer, to whom he was married for 57 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at St. Jacob's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 99 East George Street, York New Salem with Rev. Marshall H. Gante officiating. A visitation will follow the memorial service in the Church fellowship hall. Private Masonic funeral rites will be provided by F&AM Zeredetha Lodge 451 at 7:00 PM Tuesday, April 15th at the Funeral Home. The family requests that the private Masonic service be attended only by Mr. Kramer's Masonic brothers. Private burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born February 18, 1927 in York a son of the late Charles A. Kramer, Sr. and the late Winifred [Barrick] Doll, he was a graduate of William Penn High School and attended Gettysburg College. Mr. Kramer owned and operated Kramer Motor Services and Storage, Inc. until his retirement in 1984. Following his retirement he worked with T.C. Transport and Warehousing, and also was a tour guide at the Harley Davidson plant. He was a member of Spring Grove VFW; York New Salem Fire Co.; Seven Valleys Lions Club; was a cub master for 25 years with Pack 97, York New Salem; and was a member of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church where he had served as treasurer. Mr. Kramer's Masonic affiliations include, F& AM Zeredetha Lodge 451; life member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite; York-Gethsemane Lodge 21; White Rose Scottish Rite; Square Club of York; Zembo Luncheon Club; Zembo Shrine and Legion of Honor; and was a past secretary with York Co. Shrine Club. He was very active and particularly proud of his involvement with Zembo Shrine, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and White Rose Clown Units. He was also a US Army veteran of WWII and served additional years in the US Army reserves. In addition to his wife, Mr. Kramer is survived by a son, William C. and wife Jacqueline Kramer of York; two grandsons, Thomas C. and David W. Kramer; and two brothers, Robert Kramer of York and John Kramer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jacob's Lutheran Church, 99 E.
