Charles A. Fantom, Jr.

YORK- Charles A. Fantom, Jr., 75, died on Friday, December 23, 2016 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Jacqueline F. (Plath) Collier. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with Pastor Dave MacKenzie officiating. Viewings will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Born on December 11, 1941 in York, he was a son of the late Charles A. and Gladys (Rahe) Fantom, Sr. Charles was a small business owner who worked various jobs over the years. Mr. Fantom was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Charles was a member of the West Manchester Township Farmers and Sportsmen Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating on the Susquehanna River. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with his wife, Jackie, Charles is survived by one son, Charles A. Fantom, III and his wife, Melaney of Dover; six daughters, Angela Fantom Kern and husband, D. Brian of York, Lori Rumberger and husband, Scott of Enola; Jennifer Strasbaugh and husband, Jeffrey of Dover, Joann Mayer of Dover, Shelby Lau of York and Lisa Smeltzer and husband, Michael of York. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dorn Fantom.
