RED LION – Chad E. Francis, 37, passed away Friday, July 1, 2011 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Maria J. (Mercado) Francis to whom he was married for 10 years on May 5, 2011. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church, 220 N. Charles St., Red Lion with The Rev. Dr. William H. Cluley officiating. A viewing will be held from 6-7:00 PM Wednesday at the Church. Full military honors will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard at 7:00PM at the Church. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born May 1, 1974 in Towson, MD a son of Barbara Jean (Danmyer) Francis and companion Robert Stambaugh of Manchester and John T. and wife Teresa Francis of Hancock, MD, he was a 1992 graduate of Middletown High School in Middletown, MD. Chad was the General Manager of Red Lobster in Reading and also managed various other Red Lobster locations. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he sang in the Church choir and was also active with his children’s sports, having coached youth softball, baseball, and wrestling. Chad was a US Army veteran of the Persian Gulf War. In addition to his wife and parents, Chad is survived by three children, Caleb, Cody, and Alyssa; a brother, Paul Francis of Erie, PA; a sister, Tanya Mull of Mechanicsburg; maternal grandmother, Virginia and husband Clarence “Erik” Erickson of Hereford, MD; and his paternal grandfather, John L. Francis of Jacksonville, MD. He was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, Henry Danmyer; and a paternal grandmother, Shirley Francis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chad Francis Benefit Fund, c/o Grace Lutheran Church, 220 N. Charles St., Red Lion, PA 17356.
