Cecil J. Brown

ETTERS – Cecil J. Brown, 87, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Rest Haven – York. He was the husband of Dorothy A. (Dravk) Brown. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Beaver Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 West Front Street, Lewisberry with his Pastor, The Rev. Josh Fowler officiating. A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Rolling Green Cemetery with full military rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born April 6, 1925 in York a son of the late Nicholas and Beulah (Huffer) Brown, he retired from New Cumberland Army Depot in 1986 after 42 years of service. Mr. Brown attended Faith Assembly of God, was a member of New Cumberland VFW Post 7415, and enjoyed fishing and working on lawn mowers. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII. In addition to his wife, Mr. Brown is survived by a daughter, Peggy A. Wilt of Etters; two sons, Richard E. Brown of Lewisberry and David A. and wife Kristi Brown of New Cumberland; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Jesse of Chicago and Annabel of Steelton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel; and four sisters, Pearl, Sarah, Mae, and Ruth. Memorial contributions may be made to AseraCare Hospice, 44 Bowman Rd., York, PA 17408.
