Cecelia Rebecca (Norris) Crawford

STEWARTSTOWN - Cecelia Rebecca Crawford, 86, died Monday, June 4, 2012 at her residence. She was the wife of the late, Roy L. Crawford, who died on October 12, 2003. The couple had been married for over 57 years. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2335 Cramer Rd., Brogue with the Reverend Linda Trout officiating. A viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Crawford was born June 19, 1925 in East Hopewell Twp, a daughter of the late Levi B. and Rebecca (Miller) Norris. She graduated from Red Lion High School in 1942 and from Millersville State Teachers College in 1946. Cecelia worked as a schoolteacher in York City Schools from 1946-1949. She taught school in West York Area School District from 1956-1985. Mrs. Crawford was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brogue, where she was involved with the Clothes Closet. She was a member of York County Pennsylvania Association of School retirees, AARP Red Lion Chapter No 1773 and a life member of PSEA. She also spent time at the Stewartstown Seniors Center. Mrs. Crawford is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Norris; and a sister, Ophelia Shaull.
