Catherine Schultz

Pottsville- Catherine Schultz, 70, of Newtown, passed away Tuesday at Tremont Nursing Home. Born in Forrestville on April 25, 1940, she was a daughter of Mary Renninger Bonchalk, of Pottsville and the late Michael Bonchalk. She was a graduate of Tremont High School and Rembrandt Beauty Academy, Pottsville. Catherine taught and later served as dean of Rembrandt Beauty Academy in addition to operating her own hair salon. She was also a notary. Catherine and her husband owned Schultz's Auction Service, Newtown. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Samantha Lynn Stafford. In addition to her mother, Catherine is survived by her husband of 48 years, Frances "pete" Schultz, of Newtown; her daughter, Michelle Kintzer; her three grandchildren, Heather Ferguson, amber and Jason Kintzer; her 5 greatgrandchildren, Gage, Conner, Chase, Caroline and Jayden; her sister, Carol Bonchalk-Hilton. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Catherine's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, 16 North 4th Street, Minersville, PA 17954.
