Catherine R. (Schenck) Sterner

DOVER – Catherine R. (Schenck) Sterner, 67, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York. She was the loving wife of Gerald Sterner, to whom she was married for 3 years, and known for 40 years.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Pinchot Park Assembly of God, 2755 Rosstown Rd, Wellsville, PA 17365. Following the gathering, dinner will be served from 6:00PM – 8:00PM there at the church. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. in York is assisting with arrangements.

Born January 13, 1956 in York, Mrs. Sterner was a daughter of the late Philip E. and Helen D. (Shotsberger) Schenck. After graduating from college, Mrs. Sterner worked for many years as a nurse at several different facilities before she retired from Providence Place Senior Living. In her free time, Mrs. Sterner loved to travel, being outdoors, spending time at their cabin, and four wheeling.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Sterner is survived by two sons, Jeramie Seifert and his wife Terri, Kal Seifert; a step son, Terry Sterner and his wife Angela; a step daughter, BobbiJo (Sterner) Pfautz; nine grandchildren, Angie, Darrin, Justin, Bailey, Ava, Jaelyn, Addilyn, Finnley, and Silas; three step grandchildren, Paige, Claudia, and Allison; two brothers, Fred Schenck and his wife Sandy, and Mike Schenck and his wife Arleen; and three nephews, Ftehman, Philip, and Stehman.
