Catherine Elizabeth (Strahan) Lloyd

NEW COLUMBIA - Catherine Elizabeth "Kate" (Strahan) Lloyd, 77, died on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at her residence. Catherine was born on February 25, 1932 in White Deer and was the daughter of the late Elmer L. and Cora A. (Dershem) Strahan. She had attended Ramsey School. On October 6, 1948, she married the late Charles L. Lloyd in Hagerstown, MD, to whom she celebrated 30 years of marriage with until his death in July 1979. She was a former employee of Milton Shoe Co. and had retired from Pennsylvania House after 25 years service. She attended the Christ Wesleyan Church, Milton. She was a kind, loving and giving person all of her life. She worked hard to provide for her family and she loved each and everyone in her own way. She would go without to provide for her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and she believed in God the Almighty. Catherine is survived by two sons; Charles L. Lloyd, II of New Columbia and Clifford L. Lloyd and his companion Sherry Schleig of Williamsport, five daughters and one son-in-law; Cherry L. and James F. Hans, Sr. of Milton, Constance L. "Connie" Criswell and her companion Richard H. Walter of Sunbury, Cindy L. Lloyd and her companion James Kilgus of Milton, Catherine L. "Cathy" Day of Marietta, GA and Carol L. Brandau of Milton, 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, two brothers and sisters-in-law; James L. and Trannie Strahan of New Columbia and Robert H. and Mary Strahan of Herndon, and two sisters; Mary E. Sampsell and Alice G. Bickel, both of Lewisburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one great-grandson; Jeffery M. Hans, and three brothers; John, Calvin and Harold Strahan. There will be a public viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton, PA with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Kenneth E. Paulhamus will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the Mt. Deliverance Cemetery, New Columbia.
