Catherine A. Lewars

Catherine A. Lewars, 94, of Schuylkill Center Genesis Eldercare, Pottsville, died Thursday October 24, 2013 at the Schuylkill Medical Center-East. Born August 18, 1919 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna (McGovern) Taylor. She was a 1937 Graduate of the former Pottsville Catholic High School and a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur C. Lewars in 2005; a sister, Eleanor O’Brien; and brothers, Thomas, Robert, Harry, Eugene, James and Joseph Taylor. Catherine is surivived by sons, Donald husband of Tina,Bethlehem, John “Jack” husband of Cathy, Ephrata; daughters Carol Lewars, Pottsville, Mary wife of Craig Rosche, Millersburg. She is also survived by six grandchildren Dr. Marie Lewars- Wagener wife of Dr. Christopher Wagener, Robin Lewars, Jack Lewars husband of Katie, Kristie wife of Brian Wanner, Lisa Pleva- Key wife of David, and Nicole Pleva. She is also survived by 3 great grand children Cole and Grayce Wanner and Caius Wagener. Catherine was anticipating the arrival of her 4th great grandchild Lucas Lewars within the next week. She is also survived by a brother Richard “Dick” Taylor and his wife Lila, Selbyville, DE. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Wednesday October 30 at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 9:30 until 10:30 at the church. There will not be any calling hours Tuesday evening. Interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville. The family would prefer donations be made to either St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church or the Activities Fund of Schuylkill Center.
