Catharine Louise (Mclaughlin) Rasmus

YORK-Catharine Louise (McLaughlin) Rasmus, 86, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010 at ManorCare Health Services, South. She was the loving wife of Stanley J. Rasmus to whom she was married to for 64 years. Funeral services will be private at the request of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Rasmus was born November 7, 1923 in York, PA, a daughter of the late Wesley Leo and Helen (Lehman) McLaughlin. She was a 1942 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her thoughtfulness and kindness. She saw only the best in others and continually remembered them in prayer. She always enjoyed planning celebrations of holidays and milestones in the lives of those she loved. In her spare time, she enjoyed putting together scrapbooks and photo albums and gathering with friends to play cards. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Rasmus is survived by a son, Stanley J. Rasmus, III and wife, Joyce of Waynesville, NC; a granddaughter, Amelia Rasmus of Cary, NC; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane McLaughlin of York; a nephew, Doug McLaughlin and wife, Suzanne of York; and niece, Donna Bieda and husband, Richard, of York. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry McLaughlin.
