Red Lion — Carrie I. (Strayer) Haugh, died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Manor Care Health Services-Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Paul A. Haugh to whom she was married for 50 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 AM, Monday, August 20, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with her pastor, the Rev. Phyllis Hunter officiating. Viewings will be held from 5 to 7 PM, Sunday and from 9-10 AM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in St. Paul’s (Mt. Pleasant) Cemetery. Born March 22, 1922 in Chanceford Township, she was a daughter of the late David F. and Amanda E. (Waughtel) Strayer. She was employed with various cigar companies throughout the Red Lion Area, including the House of Windsor where she worked for several years as a cigar wrapper until her retirement in 1984. A member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, she also attended Red Lion Senior Center, enjoyed taking pictures and was a former member of the Winterstown Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who was completely dedicated to caring for her family. Mrs. Haugh is survived by one son, Ray E. Haugh and his fiancée, Janet Schwartz of York; one daughter, Doris E. Ellis and her husband, Clarence “Gene” of Dallastown; four grandchildren, Wesley Ellis and wife, Bobbie Jo, Diane Reed and husband, Alan, Frank Schwartz and wife, Jennifer and David Schwartz and wife, Sharon; eleven great grandchildren, Grace Ellis, Isabelle and Hunter Geisler, Christy Stromatos, Shaunna Wiley, Rebecca, Preston, Madison and Nathan Schwartz and Shawntay and Courtney Dietz; three great-great grandchildren, Cameron Wiley and Thomas and Anastasia Stromatos and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Howard and three sisters, Clara, Edna and Viola.
