Carrie A. (Urey) Vasellas

Red Lion—Carrie A. (Urey) Vasellas, 79, died Monday, December 10, 2007 at Meadow View Nursing Center in Berlin, Somerset County. She was wife of the late Harry S. Vasellas. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Burial will be held in Red Lion Cemetery. A viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral chapel. Mrs. Vasellas was born December 26, 1927 in Chanceford Township, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Eva (Reichard) Urey. She was employed with Yorktowne Kitchens for many years as a cabinetmaker. Previously, she worked for various other area furniture companies Making crafts, especially woodworking was a favorite hobby and she loved to refinish old furniture. Mrs. Vasellas is survived by five sons, John Vasellas of Brogue, Nicholas Vasellas of Felton, Harry Vasellas of Red Lion, Woodrow Vasellas of Felton and James Vasellas of Red Lion, one daughter, Agnes Roland of Mann's Choice, 15 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 11 step great-grandchildren, one brother, Harry Urey of York, four sisters, Miriam Wagoner of Windsor, Eva Eaton of Brogue, Ruth Zeigler of Manchester and Lucille Eaton of York, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Pat Dashler and Darlene Fitzkee and two sons, Sterling Vasellas and Ed Urey.
