Carolyn R. (Yoas) Axe

RED LION - Carolyn R. (Yoas) Axe, 76, of Windsor Township died Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Manor Care Health Services, South in York. She was the wife of the late Everett R. Axe. A Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Red Lion Cemetery. Her pastor, The Reverend David Tietje will be officiating at the service. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Axe was born in York on October 24, 1937, the daughter of the late Russell and Marian (Muir) Yoas. She worked in the cafeteria at Locust Grove Elementary School. Mrs. Axe was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Red Lion, was a graduate of Red Lion High School, and was a member of Susquehanna Senior Center. Mrs. Axe leaves two daughters Kimberly R. Pritchard and her husband James of Red Lion and Carole S. Schmuck and her husband Chris, of Red Lion; four grandchildren, Kayla and Heather Schmuck and Andrew and Caroline Pritchard; a brother, Russell Yoas and his wife Donna of Centerville; two nieces Mauri Vasellas of Red Lion and Shelly Fouke of Missouri and a nephew Tony Yoas of Wilmington, NC. A Sister, Sandra Geiselman had preceded her in death. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ, 161 North Main Street, Red Lion, PA 17356.
