RED LION - Carolyn E. (Gentzler) Taylor, 68 of Windsor Township, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014 at York Hospital. She was the wife of James S. Taylor. The couple celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on September 3, 2013. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. Pastor Vernon Shenberger will be officiating at the service. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Taylor was born in York on May 4, 1945, the daughter of the late Anna Mae (Gentzler) Roth. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Hellam and was a member and past president of Faithful Doves Sunday school class. She was a 1963 graduate of Eastern York High School. She was an avid collector and visitor of lighthouses, collected Longaberger baskets, and enjoyed traveling to Diners, Drive-In’s, and Dives. She touched the lives of various children and was a staunch supporter of York Rescue Mission. She was a Hershey Bears season ticket holder and an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles. Mrs. Taylor leaves two loving sons, James S. Taylor, II of York and Brian M. Taylor and his wife Jennifer of Philadelphia; two loving daughters Michelle E. Taylor of Red Lion, and Bethann R. (Taylor) Lau of Red Lion and her husband, Robert, Jr.; eight loving grandchildren, James III, Stephanie, Alexandria, Matthew, Seth, Claire, Noah, and Amelia; and three brothers, Jeffrey Roth, Timothy Roth, and Mark Roth and his wife Pam. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Earl and Mabel Gentzler. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 128 E. Market Street, Hellam, PA 17406 or York Rescue Mission, 367 West Market Street, York, PA 17401.
