Carolyn Ann Herbst

RED LION - Carolyn Ann (Strickler) Herbst, 73, died on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Junior L. Herbst. The couple had been married for 55 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Pastor Duane Bahn officiating. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. on Thursday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born on November 12, 1941 in Red Lion, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Mildred (Baublitz) Strickler. Carolyn was a beautician for several shops in the area over the years. Mrs. Herbst was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and attended Codorus Church of the Brethren. Carolyn enjoyed traveling to the beach with Susie and Kay. She also enjoyed reading, watching Joyce Meyer, spending time with her cats and playing card games. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. Carolyn was a true caregiver who was always willing to help others. Along with her husband, Junior, Carolyn is survived by two daughters, Karen Roland of York and Jackie Bailey and her husband, Kevin of York; four grandchildren, Eric Roland, Andrew Roland, Brent Bailey and Jessica Bailey; six great grandchildren, Alexa Roland, Kylee Roland, Camden Dodson, Kayla Roland, Bailey Burkett and Cameron Bailey; one half sister, Hope Goodman of Allentown; and several cousins.
