Caroline R. (Ruppert) Frantz

YORK- Caroline R. (Ruppert) Frantz, 88, was called home to be with heaven’s angels. Caroline passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Rest Haven-York with her daughter, Deborah, granddaughter Melissa and grandson Craig by her side. She was the wife of the late Richard R. Frantz. The couple shared 67 years of marriage together prior to Richard’s passing on May 26, 2015. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 10:30 Am on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with The Reverend Dr. Bryan Mann officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10:30 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Salem Union Cemetery, Dover, PA. Born July 22, 1927 in Dover Township, Caroline was a daughter of the late Oscar and Helen (Jacobs) Ruppert. In her earlier life she served the Jacobus Fire Company as President of the Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Caroline was a devoted homemaker and loved being in the kitchen, always ready to feed you. You always left their home feeling full. She was a very loving wife, mother, sister and aunt. She was always smiling and ready to talk to anyone. She loved her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Caroline left many treasured memories and will always be cherished by her daughter, Deborah Smith and husband Lynwood; granddaughter Melissa Beard and husband James; grandson Craig Smith and wife Anna; two great granddaughters, Emily Beard and Casara Smith; a sister, Lois Golden and husband Larry, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Frantz was preceded in death by two brothers, Jay and Joe Ruppert, and two sisters, Ethel Falkenstine and Dorothy Bohnert. The family wishes to thank the following: AseraCare Hospice and their staff who took excellent care of Caroline. She always looked forward to seeing them; Rest Haven and the girls who took exceptional care of Caroline. Although her stay was short, they were always ready to make sure she was comfortable; Dr. Richard Kurz and Dr. Susan Kurz for their support to Caroline and her family during the last month of her life as well as the many years that she was their patient.
