LEWISBURG - Caroline J. “Carol” (Shaffer) Guinn-Bailey, 72, a former Milton resident, died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Milton on August 30, 1940 and was raised on Chestnut Street. She was the daughter of the late John Bryan and Mary (Stevenson) Shaffer. Caroline was a graduate of the Milton Area High School, class of 1958. She married the late Robert Lee “Bob” Guinn-Bailey on November 28, 1980 and they celebrated 20 years together until his death on January 29, 2000. Caroline worked at the Milton Shoe Factory then went on to work for the Milton Elementary School as a custodian until she retired in 2002. Caroline attended Christ Temple Apostolic Church, Milton. She was a member of the American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Post #325. Caroline enjoyed playing games, listening to country music, watching Penn State football and most of all, visiting with her friends and family. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Troy M. and Sara Guinn-Bailey, one grandson; Conor Robert Guinn-Bailey, all of West Caldwell, NJ, numerous nieces and nephews including the following; Laverne Apple of Sunbury, Carol Day of Muncy, Becky Harding of Danville, John Apple of Northumberland, Willie Thomas of Cogan Station, AJ Benfer of Muncy, Di Franck of Milton, Rhoda Chamberlain of Milton, Faith King of New Columbia, Beth Stackhouse of Williamsport and Kevin Shaffer of Danville. In addition to her parents and husband, Caroline was preceded in death by two brothers; John Shaffer and Milton Shaffer, four sisters; Doreen Wilson, Jennie Harris, Bessie Apple and Sharon Shaffer. A public viewing will be held from 7:00-9:00p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, and again from 10:00-11:00a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton PA 17847 followed by the funeral at 11:00a.m. with Evangelist Denny Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery, Milton.
