POTTSVILLE - Caroline A. Barbetta, of Pottsville, died Monday morning at her home. Born in Mt. Carbon, she was a daughter of the late James and Maria Luongo Barbetta. She attended Pottsville schools. She was a graduate of Ford School of Business. Caroline was a member of St. Joseph's parish in Pottsville. Caroline was employed by Pomeroy's, as an assistant buyer. She also worked for the Van Heusen Corp., and the local chapter of the American Red Cross. She retired from the Pottsville Republican. Surviving are: a sister, Eleanor Hughes, of Schuylkill Haven, two brothers, Nick Barbetta of Schuylkill Haven and Albert Barbetta, of Danville, IL; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: four brothers, Alfonso, Angelo, Eugene and Joseph. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10:00 from St. Joseph Church, Pottsville. Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday morning from 9 until time of service. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc. 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville, is handling the arrangements.
