Carole L. (Mericle) Ferguson

WINDFALL-Carole L. (Mericle) Ferguson, 66, of Windfall, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Robert L. "Bob" Ferguson. The couple married on February 16, 1968 and had 40 happy years together. Family and friends are welcome to call from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. The funeral service to honor Carole's life will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, June 25th at the funeral home with Rev. David B. Morris and Rev. Duane L. Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service in Glenwood Cemetery. Carole was born on May 26, 1942 in Coudersport, PA. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Dorothy (Reynolds) Mericle. Carole was a graduate of Coudersport High School and Loch Haven University. She worked as a physical education teacher for the Troy Area School District until her retirement in 1997. Carole was a member of the P.S.E.A., the N.R.A., was an instructor for the PA Hunters Safety program and the Woman of the Outdoors group, was a committee member of the Friends of the N.R.A. for Bradford and Sullivan Counties, was an avid bow hunter, fisherwoman, and NASCAR fan, loved to garden and raise flowers, and made a large contribution in time, love, and patience to the youth of Bradford County. Carole is survived by her husband Bob, her son Byron R. Ferguson of Windfall, PA, her brother Bob (Nila) Mericle of Eden, N.C., and her sister Joyce (Sanford) Brass of Huston, TX, her sister-in-law Ann (Robert) Lyle-Mann of Binghamton, NY, along with several nieces and nephews.
